White Japanese Wisteria is a deciduous vine with 20 inch long fragrant, white blooms, tinged with pink. Blooms April to May, and blooms emerge just before or as leaves emerge, so it is quite showy. Leaves are long and pinnate, and a soft green, deepening in color with the summer heat. Grows 15 to 25 feet tall and wide.

This is a very vigorus vine. No small, cute garden trelises. Give it a fence, garage, or pergola to cover. Prune right after flowering. Too much nitrogen fertilizer can inhibit blooming, so avoid planting near heavily fed lawns. Plant in full sun and well drained soil. Sometimes available as a "standardized" tree, they need proper pruning to maintain form.
