If you use fertilizer make sure it stays on the landscape, and carefully water it in so there is NO runoff.

Description
Notes
This annual poppy is know for its large, bright red flowers with dark center blotches. The petals are papery thin, and after they fall, are followed by attractive pods. Though summer blooming, our hot, dry climate may shorten the blooming season.
Grow in full sun in fertile, well draining soil. Sow seeds in the spring outdoors. Deadheading will prolong blooms, but leave some pods to give the plants a chance to reseed.
