Hoop's is a cultivar of Colorado Spruce selected for its outstanding, consistent blue color. New growth is especially bright blue. It has a pyramidal form with horizontal branches, with dense, silvery-blue needles. Fast growing to 30 to 50 feet tall and 10 to 50 feet wide.

Grow in full sun in clay-loamy to sandy-loamy, well drained soil. At higher elevations, spruces are more heat and drought tolerant; in the valley, it will grow more vigorously and be less prone to disease and insect prolems if it receives regular watering (though don't over-water, either).
