Silvermound is a perennial growing 12 to 18 inches tall and wide, in a dense, rounded, mounded clump. Its foliage is silvery green-grey and very ferny. Used in perennial borders; effective in containers. I admit, there are other artemisias I like so much more than Silvermound, but it is sweet in spring...
Grow in full sun and well drained soils. Adaptive to a wide range of soils, as long as they are well draining. In the late winter to early spring, cut it back to its crown, just above where you see new buds emerging. It tolerates average to dry conditions, though over watering, and over-head watering tend to cause the center to melt out and become brown and shabby.
