'Mint Julep' is a shrubby juniper growing to about 4 to 6 feet tall and 6 to 8 feet wide, with an arching, spreading habit. It has bright green foliage, and retains the color well durign the winter months. Useful in mass plantings or as a token evergreen in formal, traditional, or naturally-styled landscapes. An effective hedge.
Makes an attractive accent, hedge, or screen. Does not require shearing to maintain its shape; in fact, shearing will make it a bit stiff and woody so place it where it can spread and its natural form be displayed to advantage. Slow to medium growth. Prefers full sun and moderate to low moisture. Will grow in nearly any soil type, as long as it is well-drained, including sandy, gravelly, and clay soils. Tolerates heat, including reflective heat. Drought tolerant once established; requires only periodic watering.
