Summer Wine ninebark is a smaller version of Diabolo, with finer textured, deeply cut foliage of a rich crimson-red. It has an upright, open vase form, growing to about 5 to 6 feet tall and wide. Flowers are creamy white and very showy against the dark foliage.

Grow in well drained soil in full sun to light shade, though the foliage color is best in full sun. Adaptive to soil type, as long as it is well draining. Prune selectively after blooming to control height if necessary; prune to renovate in late winter (see Guides).
