Filling the gap between snowdrops and crocus, spring snowflake is a early season bulb with clear white, bell-shaped flowers with green dots, and strappy green leaves. The plant grows about 8 or so inches tall, and if well sited, will spread and naturalize. Well suited to shrub borders or under trees; the foliage will eventually go dormant by mid summer, so either mulch or plant with another groundcover like ajuga or lamium.

Grow in well drained to moist, loamy soils in full sun to part to full shade. It would also tolerate the conditions of being under a deciduous tree, with full sun during the winter months, and then some summer shade.
