Bosnian Pine is an extremely slow-growing pine with dense, dark green foliage and light bark. Young cones are bright purple, maturing to a deep brown. Native to Yugoslavia's Bosnian Mountains. A slow grower to 40 feet, with a width of about 10 feet, making it well suited to urban landscapes. A lovely specimen, or in groupings.
Best in protected location, as it is subject to winter burn. Plant in full sun, though some sources say it will tolerate a bit of shade. It requires well drained soil, and is somewhat drought tolerant once established, though providing periodic watering will mean it grows a bit faster.
