White Virgins bower is a vigorous, deciduous vine with fragrant cream colored flowers in spring and summer and attractive seedheads following. Grows about 15 to 20 feet high and higher. Though it is native to riparian areas, it has a medium drought tolerance so would fit well in a water-wise garden, though maybe not a xeric one. Attractive to beneficial insects and hummingbirds. A Utah native.
Plant in light, loamy, well-drained soil. Sun to part shade. Twining habit requires support. Can grow vigorously, even up into tall trees, so plant were it won't overwhelm. Excellent for pergolas or arbors.
