Water Saving Tip:

Replace turf with groundcovers, trees, and shrubs. If you have areas where no one uses the grass, patches that do not grow well, or a turf area too small to water without runoff, consider replacing the turf with water-efficient landscaping.

Purple Prince Buddleia is an older selection, and still popular for good reason. Upright forms grows 6 to 8 feet, and half as wide. Grey green leaves are aromatic, but the real fragrance comes from the violet-purple flowers that appear in racemes mid to late summer. Very fragrant. Attractive to bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds; not so much to deer.
