Blireana plum is a small, deciduous, flowering tree growing about 20 feet tall and wide. Pink, double flowers appear before leaves emerge. Leaves open purple, maturing to dark green. Habit is rounded, dense, and somewhat twiggy. Its flowers are lovely, but the irregular nature of the tree might make it best suited to a shrub border.
Grow in full sun and well drained soil, ideally loamy clay or sandy-loam. Prune to tidy up in late winter to early spring, or better still, prune after the flowers emerge and bring them inside.
