This Utah native is a tough, hardy perennial that is well suited to very dry gardens. Large, papery white petals surround showy yellow stamens. Blooms June through September. Stems and leaves are covered in prickly hairs, so don't place it near a path. The height varies with seed source, and can be anywhere from 15 to 40 inches tall.
Grow in full sun in nearly any soil that is well drained. Will not tolerate over-watering or wet soils. Water sparingly once established. Attracts native bees, honeybees, and butterflies.
