Blue Glow is a unique perennial worth making some space for in the garden. Deep green thistle-like foliage creates a dense mass; flower stems are white, really setting off the intense violet-blue globe flowers. Blooms mid-summer. Attracts bees and butterflies; deer and rabbit resistant. Wonderful texture and color contrast with late season daylilies, zauschneria, and rudbeckia. Grows about 48 inches tall with an 18 inch spread. Excellent cut flower.
Grows in most any well-drained soil, even dry, shallow, rocky soils. Full sun. Low to moderate water. Like thistle, the leaves do have barbs, so wear gloves when handling.
