'Alaska' is a daisy cultivar selected for its tall rigid stems that generally do not require staking, and its large, single-petaled, pure white rays and golden yellow eyes. Flowers bloom mid to late summer, and seem to be meant for vases. Leaves are a deep green, long, narrow and toothed. The plant grows as an upright mound, to about 18 to 36 inches tall and 18 to 24 inches wide. Well suited to perennial or mixed borders, cottage or cutting gardens.

Grow in well drained soil in full sun to light shade. Tolerates a range of soils, though wet soils will make it floppy. Also, avoid overhead watering, especially once the flowers open, as the water can cause the flowers to decline quicker than they would otherwise. Also, vigorous over-head watering can knock the plants over. Deadheading will prolong bloom season. Formerly called Chrysanthemum maximum 'Alaska'.
