Bowervine is a vigorous, twining vine that can grow 20 to 30 feet tall. It has lustrous, dark green leaves that turn yellow in the fall. White flowers appear May and June, and though not very showy, are delicately fragrant. If you have both male and female plants, the flowers will be followed by yellowish-green fruit reminiscent of true kiwi (A. chinensis). This vine needs sturdy and substantial support.

This is a rampant vine that will grow in full sun to partial shade and in any soil. Planting it in poor, infertile soil and watering it judiciously will help to control growth. Prune hard every year to keep tidy and control growth. If pruning for fruit production, prune each stem to 8 to 10 buds in late winter.
