Rose-of-Sharon is a deciduous shrub with an upright, dense form in its youth, becoming more open and spreading with age. 'Ardens' has double, lilac-pink flowers. Foliage is bright green and unevenly serrated. Rose-of-Sharon makes an excellent addition to the shrub border, or as a hedge or screen. Moderate grower to 10 feet tall and 6 feet wide.
