Siberian cypress is a very low, wide-spreading, evergreen shrub similar in appearance to juniper. It has scale-like leaves that are bright green and feathery, with a coppery-brown fall color. Texture is softer and less prickly than that of juniper. Moderate growing to about 6 to 18 inches tall and 4 to 6 feet wide.

Grow in well-drained, loamy soils in part shade. It is listed as being tolerant of full sun, but in our arid, hot summers, they tend to suffer when not afforded mid-day protection. Its feathery, layered appearance is diminished by shearing, so prune selectively (see Guides).
