Water Saving Tip:

Replace turf with groundcovers, trees, and shrubs. If you have areas where no one uses the grass, patches that do not grow well, or a turf area too small to water without runoff, consider replacing the turf with water-efficient landscaping.

Woolly yarrow is a wonderful groundcover for hot, dry, sunny spaces. It forms a tight mat of fuzzy olive-green leaves, topped by clusters of bright canary-yellow flowers in early summer. It is a fine performer in rock gardens and at the front of herbaceous perennial borders. Evergreen. Tolerates light foot traffic, so plant it between pavers or at the edges of paths and walks. Grows 6 to 8 inches tall and 8 to 12 inches wide.
