Beautybush is an old-fashioned deciduous garden shrub with a graceful upright, arching habit. Displays profuse clusters of small, bell-shaped pink flowers with yellow throats in early summer. Foliage is a dull, dark green; slightly reddish in the fall. 6 to 10 feet tall and about as wide.
Flowers on old wood. To control size and to encourage leafing near the base, do not shear, but rather, selectively remove the tallest limbs in late winter (leaving most of the shrub to flower) or prune hard close to the ground after flowering. Best flowering in full sun though will tolerate some shade.
