Davidson's penstemon forms a low evergreen mat, with small, dark green and glossy leaves. Flowers are comparatively large, tubular, and are pinkish-violet. Blooms June thru August. Grows 2 to 4 inches tall with a 6 to 8 inch spread.
Grow in full sun to some shade, in well draining soil. Native to gravelly outcrops and rocky slopes, so will grow in poor soils as long as they are well drained. Hardy to -10. Makes a nice little groundcover.
