This catalpa is usually sold as a standard/grafted form; so height depends on the height of the inter-stem, though usually they are around 12 to 15 feet tall. The grafted form makes a nice specimen, though is can be as wide as it is tall, or even wider, so plant it wher it will have room. The white, bell-shaped flowers are speckled with purple and yellow on the inside. Blooms in clusters in June-July. Large, soft-green leaves are heart-shaped.
Grow in full sun to part shade in any well-drained soil, though it prefers sandy-loam soils and moderate moisture. In hot, dry sites, the large leaves may scorch.
