This small sage is a Utah native, growing in semi-desserts, foothills, and shrublands. It has a rounded, tidy habit, growing about 16 to 18 inches tall and 24 inches wide. It has pale gree, evergreen foliage that is covered in grey hairs, giving it a silvery appearance. Yellow flowers bloom August through October. All parts of the plant are arromatic. Its tidy habit makes it easy to fit into more traditionally-styled landscapes, but it is also wonderful tucked into a more natural setting. Excellent for sunny, hot parkstrips.

Grow in full sun and well drained soil, preferrably a little on the coarse side. Tolerates gravelly-clay and sandy soils. Alkaline tolerant. Doesn't require watering once it is established. Does not require pruning.
