Water Saving Tip:

Change spray sprinklers to low-flow bubbler or drip systems. Shrubs and trees are ideal candidates for this type of irrigation because the water is applied directly to the root zones.

Dropseeds are warm-season bunch grasses that grow from 2-1/2 to 4 feet tall, and not quite as wide. Spike dropseed is similar to sand dropseed, except that the inflorescens doesn't open up, but is more "spike-like." It is useful in revegetation and range; was used by Southwestern Indians as a food source. It might be difficult to find, but there are seed sources.
