'Prairie Dusk' is an early summer blooming penstemon with lavender purple trumpet-shaped flowers on upright stems growing 12 to 18 inches tall and wide. Foliage is evergreen, basal, and about 6 to 8 inches.
Grow in well drained, average to dry soil in full sun. Avoid wet, poorly drained soils. Removing spent flowers may help to prolong the season of bloom; the whole plant can be cut back to its basal flowering after blooming if a tidy appearance is important.
