Another variation of Pfitzer juniper, this time with new foliage being slightly bluish; older plants have a more distinctive blue coloring. Foliage tinges purple in winter. A large juniper, it has a wide, spreading habit and grows about 6 to 8 feet tall and 10 to 15 feet wide over time.
Grow in average, well-drained soils in full sun. Adapts to a wide range of soils, though performs well in dryish, sandy soils with good drainage. Intolerant of wet soils. Prune selectively to control size (see Guides). Also listed as J. chinensis 'Pfitzeriana Glauca'.
