Water Saving Tip:

Replace turf with groundcovers, trees, and shrubs. If you have areas where no one uses the grass, patches that do not grow well, or a turf area too small to water without runoff, consider replacing the turf with water-efficient landscaping.

This penstemon has intense, electric blue flowers from May to July. Foliage is glossy green and forms a low rosette that is topped by flower stems ranging up to 30 inches. This penstemon tolerates a little shade. A Utah native.
Grows in full to part sun in well-drained soil. Soggy soils will result in root rot. Does well in poor soils, and gravelly to sandy-loam soils, as long as it is well drained.
