Water Saving Tip:

Even though it's hot, your lawn only needs to be watered twice a week to stay healthy.

And don't water the whole lawn for a brown spot—drag out a hose.

Goldflame Spirea has attractive bronzy new growth in the spring that matures to a soft yellow-green in the summer. Fall foliage color is a coppery-orange. Summer flowers are crimson to carmine red. Great in front of larger shrubs or as a foliage bridge in a perennial border. Moderate grower to 3 to 4 feet tall, with a slightly wider spread.
Best foliage color will occur in full sun, but spireas tolerat half sun to light shade. Tolerates many soil types except those that are extremely wet. Pruning should occur in early spring before growth starts, or you'll snip off the flowers. After flowers fade, a short shear will encourage a second flush of growth that will also bring with it additional, though smaller, flowers.
